Recope receives Mayor's Award of Excellence

At our recent gala celebrating our 50th Anniversary we were honoured to receive the Mayor's Award of Excellence in Summerland from Mayor Doug Holmes. This award is presented each year to an organization serving the community of Summerland. The South Okanagan Recope Society has had the privilege to support the Summerland community since 1976. What began as part of the Summerland Hospital as rehabilitative support has developed into a community-supported not for profit organization.

Recope supports a wide range of medical challenges including people who have had neurological events such as strokes, have lost strength or mobility, have persistent joint inflammation and those who are have had orthopedic surgery or need it. Through our medically designed and supervised program we help members of our community regain their independence. Our classes, which take place Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, have a wonderful atmosphere full of support and are a great place to make social connections. We offer both pool and land classes.
We proudly support over 180 people in Summerland and last fall successfully expanded to Penticton. Our Penticton location has pool classes on Tuesday and Thursday and have been very well received.
If you would like to support our program please consider a donation in honour of our 50th Anniversary.
